Andre Iguodala is a one-time NBA All-Star and a two-time NBA All-Defensive Team. His stint with the Golden State Warriors was the beginning of his transition into an NBA elder statesman.
Despite his relatively low output, Iguodala is seen as an important presence; a guide, the glue that holds it together.
It’s something his most recent coach Erik Spoelstra appreciated right away for the Miami Heat.
“You can’t put an analytic to his game with how many different ways he can impact your team in regards to winning,†Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.Â
“You have to have him in your locker room and see him out on the floor to truly understand. Every coach in this league recognizes he is a winner because he does so many winning things.â€

It seems Iguodala will soon utilize his winning ways to guide his son through life upon his retirement.Â
“He lives a rich and soft life. So I have to prepare him to be self-sufficient,†Iguodala said
â€He’s smart enough, but he hasn’t dealt with any danger. Coming from where we come from, it helps us in terms of having street awareness. You have to scope the scene and know there is danger around. But he’s so comfortable that I have to reign him in.â€
