Clippers’ Blake Griffin Out 4-6 Weeks With Broken Hand After Fight
It appears the Los Angeles Clippers will be without star forward Blake Griffin for a little longer than expected. Griffin has been dealing with a quadriceps injury that has kept him out for quite some time, and now the 26-year-old has suffered another injury in an off-the-floor altercation with the team’s assistant equipment manager, Matias Testi.
According to ESPN, Griffin will miss an additional four to six weeks with a hand injury:
Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin will miss four to six weeks after breaking a bone in his right hand Saturday in Toronto, the team announced.
Apparently, Griffin got into a physical altercation with Testi at a restaurant in Toronto. Griffin threw a punch at Testi and as a result broken a bone in his shooting hand.
As if the news of losing Griffin for as much as another month and a half wasn’t bad enough news for the Clippers, Griffin could serve a sizable suspension. The NBA is currently investigating the off-the-floor incident and may decide that Griffin deserves to be suspended for his role in the altercation.
Fortunately for Los Angeles, the Clippers haven’t missed a beat without Griffin in the lineup. Doc Rivers’ squad has won 11 out of the 14 games Griffin has missed thus far with the team seemingly starting to gel after a subpar start to the season.
At this point, the Clippers have 30-1 odds to win the NBA championship at season’s end, according to Sportsbook.ag. Although the Golden State Warriors are the cream of the crop in the NBA right now with few believing any team in the league can contender with Stephen Curry and company, the Clippers will continue to be a threat in the Western Conference with they way they’ve been playing as of late.
