Jerry Jeudy: Trade Me Or Don’t Trade Me

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is bullish regarding scrutiny over his production and the resulting trade speculation.

Jerry Jeudy enjoyed a career year in 2022, with highs in catches (67), receiving yards (972) and touchdown catches (6). So far this season, he only has 20 catches for 222 yards and zero touchdown catches.

To make matters worse, the Broncos’ 1 – 5 start is their worst since 1994. Jerry Jeudy, who had his 5th-year option picked up in the Spring, says criticism is normal.

“I mean, as a receiver, there’s a lot of people you’ve got to depend on,” Jeudy said.

“You can be open, but if the line don’t do their thing or the quarterback don’t do his thing or the (offensive coordinator) don’t put you (in a good spot), it’s a whole lot of stuff that you’ve got to go through as a receiver to be successful. I can’t really (worry).

“At the end of the day, I’ve got to do what I do. People can say, ‘Oh, look at the stats, look at this, look at that.’ But the eye in the sky don’t lie.

“That’s what y’all need to go watch the film instead of looking at the stats,” he said. “Go watch the film and see what it is.”

“I’m a first-round pick, so people have high expectations for me, and I have high expectations, too,” Jeudy said. “But at the same time, when you don’t – how can I say this? I don’t want to say I’m not playing to that standard, because I feel like I’m doing what I can do and I’m controlling what I can control.

“So, trade me or (don’t) trade me. It don’t matter because at the end of the day I’m going to still be me.”
