MNF Fallout: Bears Look Weak, Saints Stay On Top Of Division
The Chicago Bears are not the worst team in the NFL and they have no where near the worst record, but it sure feels like they are the worst.
The Bears were defeated by the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football last night and they looked it too. It was not only a terrible game on both sides of the ball but the Bears were clearly not into the game at all. Very little effort was shown, and the sad stares at the end of the game even felt forced.
Chicago has now guaranteed itself a losing season with their third consecutive defeat. The blame game now begins as the coaching staff begins to express their unhappiness with Jay Cutler, who is going to stay in Chicago regardless given his big contract.
In the end, the blame is going to go where it should and that is on the coaching staff. It is hard to imagine a situation where some people are not fired from the Bears coaching squad after the Bears performances as of late.
By beating the Bears, the Saints have not proving much of anything, considering just how heartless the Bears are right now. The win does, however, keep the Saints on top of the pitiful NFC South, despite New Orleans having a 6-8 record.
The fact is beating the Bears is not going to too much of anything for any teams reputation at this point. Drew Brees had a nice showing against one of the leagues worst defense and the Saints hang on to the NFC South for now.
The Bears did put some points on the board late in the game and that probably says more about than inconsistency of the Saints than the play of Chicago.
Bettors should not have a lot of confidence in either one of these teams at the moment, as the Bears lack confidence themselves and the Saints continue with unstable play.
