Most Improved And Unimproved NFL Teams
Summer has about a month left and the only good thing about that is that fall brings football.
The NFL landscape was not exactly shaken to its core during the last offseason, but there were some significant changes. Many teams showed some major improvements. The Jacksonville Jaguars, for example, were so bad last season that really the only place for them to go is up.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be a major threat next season. They brought Lovie Smith on to fix the team and he is a proven winner and the right fit to help mold the young Tampa Bay Bucs into winners.
Smith is known for is D’ so do not be surprised when the Bucs come up in our conversations next season about teams with the best defense. Â We saw what he did with the Chicago Bears a couple of years and he has a wealth of talent in Alterraun Verner, Michael Johnson, Even Dietrich-Smith and Anthony Collins.
On the other side of the ball they picked up Mike Evans in the draft. Â He will likely become a favorite target of veteran quarterback Josh McCown who is also new to the squad this year.
Meanwhile, the most shocking terrible team last season, the New York Giants, have really not done much to improve.
Last year their offense was awful, so they decided that simply replacing Kevin Gilbride at offensive coordinator with Ben McAdoo should be enough to turn it around.
Another veteran quarterback who may find himself in similar boat to Eli Manning is Tom Brady. The New England Patriots have lost all of Brady’s favorite targets over the last two years. Ideally Brady will find new targets he can trust, but time will tell.
