LeBron James wants to own an NBA team in Las Vegas
Over the last few years, Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James has made it known that he wants to venture into ownership of a team after his playing days.
James made that notion quite clear again after the Lakers’ preseason game on Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns.
“I would love to bring a team here at some point. That would be amazing. I know Adam is in Abu Dhabi right now, I believe,” LeBron James said via ESPN, alluding to the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks’ preseason trip to the United Arab Emirates that Silver is attending. “But he probably sees every single interview and transcript that comes through from NBA players.
“So, I want the team here, Adam. Thank you.”
James hasn’t been shy about airing his desire to have the league have a team in Las Vegas. He’s been quite vocal on that front, and with the city garnering three professional sports teams in the Golden Knights, Raiders and Aces, that will only make the outside noise louder.
The allure of having a team in Las Vegas has always been there, especially due to the strong connection to betting. That aspect alone has only grown more prominent in the sports scene as the years move along.

The NBA held the 2007 All-Star game in the city, which came with some issues behind the scenes. However, things have changed over the last decade-plus to lead a few professional teams to move to Las Vegas.
It may only be a matter of time before the NBA joins the mix.
