Pistons, Blake Griffin working on trade scenarios and buyout possibilities
Blake Griffin’s stint with the Detroit Pistons appears to be coming to an end. It’s likely he’ll lave Detroit in the same way former NBA MVP Derrick Rose did. Not long after the Pistons traded Rose to the New York Knicks, the team is sending Griffin elsewhere.
According to ESPN, the struggling franchise and Griffin have mutually agreed to keep him out of the team’s lineup until they can create a path to his future with another team or at least make him a free agent with a buyout.

Six-time NBA All-Star forward Blake Griffin and the Detroit Pistons have agreed that he will be out of the lineup until the franchise and his representatives work through a resolution on his playing future, Pistons general manager Troy Weaver told ESPN.
The Pistons will continue to pursue trade scenarios involving Griffin, and talks on a contract buyout with his agent, Sam Goldfeder of Excel Sports, could eventually come into focus.
Griffin’s career has gone in the wrong direction since he was traded to the Pistons. He was a household name alongside Chris Paul in seven years with the Los Angeles Clippers.
