NFL Conference Championship Fallout
Sunday’s NFL Conference Championship games saw both favorites go over, which may sound like there were not many surprises but that assumption is wrong.
The biggest surprise of the day was the Seattle Seahawks making a huge comeback in the fourth quarter to go over the Green Bay Packers, 28-22. The six-point win did not send Seahawk bettors to the window, but it was an incredible comeback and and incredible game.
The AFC Championship had a tough act to follow, and in many ways it failed to do so by delivering exactly what we all expected.
The game between the New England Patiorts and the Indianapolis Colts was going to go one of two ways: Either the Colts were going to stay with in striking distance throughout and Andrew Luck would lead a fourth-quarter drive for the win or the Pats would blowout Indianapolis. It was the latter that happened.
Just like in the regular season, New England showed that it takes more than just an elite quarterback to compete against elite teams.
If we all collectively put our team pride to the side, it is clear that the two best teams made it to the Super Bowl. The Pats and Seahawks were No. 1 seeds coming into the playoffs and they each showed that they are truly No. 1 caliber teams by playing like the top two teams in the NFL. Now we will see which team is Super Bowl Champions.
The early odds are all over the place. Some websites have the Pats as 1-point favorites while other have the Seahawks as 1-point favorites. It is going to be a close one and an exciting one come Super Bowl Sunday.
