NFL Week 2: Updated odds and picks
The NFL is about to have its second weekend of games, with 14 coming on Sunday before the Detroit Lions visit the New York Giants on Monday night at MetLife Stadium.
So what are the lines as of Saturday night? We lay them all out, along with a thought on the contests.
Minnesota Vikings at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6)
The Vikings are a good team with an excellent defense. This should be close, but the Steelers finds. way to get to 2-0 on this young season.
Arizona Cardinals (-7) at Indianapolis Colts
The Cardinals could play their entire second-string, and still win this game. Indianapolis is a complete disgrace, and Chuck Pagano should be fired at halftime.
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens (-7.5)
Baltimore has a really good defense, and DeShone Kizer is playing his first road game. This is simply a very bad spot for Cleveland and its rookie quarterback.
Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs (-5.5)
The Eagles are decent, but the Chiefs are better in almost all areas. Kansas City should win this one at Arrowhead, and likely cover in the process.
Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-7)
The Buccaneers have been waiting weeks to play this game. The Bears are already injured with Jerrell Freeman and Kevin White out for the season. Not good.
Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars (EVEN)
If the Jaguars win this game, it’s time to take them seriously in the rancid AFC South. It’s also time to start giving Tennessee the side eye.
Buffalo Bills at Carolina Panthers (-7)
The Panthers are at home, are a much better team, and after a brutal 6-10 campaign last year, has ever reason to have ample motivation.
New England Patriots (-6) at New Orleans Saints
There will be 900 passing yards (or more) in this game. Take the Patriots to win and cover.
Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5)
The Chargers open up their new era in a soccer stadium. Still, they have the better roster and should be able to win a tight game.
New York Jets at Oakland Raiders (-13.5)
The Raiders are going to do things to the Jets which shouldn’t be witnessed by children.
Dallas Cowboys (-2) at Denver Broncos
The Cowboys should be able to run the ball behind the league’s best line and Ezekiel Elliott. Look for Dallas to get the job done against a tough Denver defense.
Washington Redskins at Los Angeles Rams (-3)
Sean McVay’s new team might just be better than his old team. The Rams have a chance to prove they’re actually much-improved.
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks (-14)
See Raiders-Jets commentary.
Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons (-3)
This is the best game of the week. Give me Aaron Rodgers over Matt Ryan, albeit slightly. This should be fantastic.
Detroit Lions at New York Giants (-3)
The Giants are desperate and Odell Beckham will be back, so I’ll ride with Big Blue. Not feeling great about it, though.
