NFL: 5 best bets for Offensive Rookie of the Year
Looking at the Vegas odds for 2021 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, here are the five best bets to consider.
5. Kadarius Toney, WR, New York Giants (+3300)
The Giants have a litany of receiving options including Sterling Shepard, Kyle Rudolph, Evan Engram and Darius Slayton. Perhaps Toney doesn’t get the targets necessary to win the award. However, if we’re looking at value, the Florida product makes a ton of sense. If Toney emerges, he’ll get plenty of targets in a city that demands attention. Nobody will be overlooking him if he plays well, which could happen to guys in places like Carolina or Arizona.

4. Justin Fields, QB, Chicago Bears (+700)
The only reason Fields isn’t higher is because he might not start the first few weeks of the year while the Bears try to convince people they’re married to Andy Dalton for some strange reason. Also, there has to be some concern about who Fields will be throwing to once he takes the reins. Allen Robinson is fantastic, but the rest of the group? Big yikes. The Bears need Fields to become a star at some point, but will it be quick enough to win any hardware in 2021?
3. Zach Wilson, QB, New York Jets (+800)
Unlike Fields, it appears Wilson will start from Week 1 on. The Jets gave him some talent to work with this offseason by signing receiver Corey Davis and drafting Elijah Moore to play opposite him. Factor in second-year man Denzel Mims on the outside, and New York has some real potential on the outside. If Wilson can remain upright behind the offensive line, he has a real shot to cash some tickets.

2. Ja’Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals (+1200)
If you’re going to bet on a receiver, Chase is the guy. He gets to pair with star quarterback Joe Burrow, who played with him at LSU while the duo was winning a national championship down in the Bayou. Chase joins Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins on the outside in the Queen City, and should be able to put up considerable numbers right away.
1. Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars (+300)
Even though Lawrence is the favorite, he’s also the best value bet. Few quarterbacks  have ever come into the league with more hype. The Jaguars may have been 1-15 last year, but they have a pair of young, exciting receivers in D.J. Chark and Laviska Shenault. If Lawrence stays healthy, he should win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
