Aaron Jones agrees to four-year deal with Packers
Once the 2020 NFL season was officially over for the Green Bay Packers after getting beat by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the consensus was the team was on the verge of losing star running back Aaron Jones in NFL free agency. Most predicted he’d head to the Miami Dolphins or another team looking for an upgrade out of the backfield, but he chose to stay in Wisconsin.

According to ESPN, Jones has agreed to a lucrative four-year deal with the Packers.
Running back Aaron Jones has reached agreement with the Green Bay Packers on a four-year deal worth $48 million, including a $13 million signing bonus, agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This move could dramatically change things for the short-term future in Green Bay as many anticipated last year to be the final year of Aaron Rodgers’ stint with the team. Rodgers hinted at the team breaking up and him possibly playing elsewhere, but that seems to have changed.
Apparently, Jones didn’t want to play anywhere else despite expecting to receive some sizable offers from other teams around the NFL. Jones’ agent Drew Rosenhaus said the following about his client’s decision to remain in Green Bay.

“We anticipated bigger offers in free agency, but Aaron wanted to stay with the Packers,” Rosenhaus told ESPN.
In 14 regular-season games with the Packers in 2020, Jones rushed for 1,104 yards and nine touchdowns on 201 carries. He also made an impact as a receiver racking up 355 yards and two touchdowns on 47 receptions.
