Antonio Brown On NFL Future: ‘Tell Jerry Jones To Call Me’

In recent months, Antonio Brown has made it abundantly clear that he is perfectly fine with no longer playing football.

However, that hasn’t stopped the former All-Pro wideout from at least stirring the pot by rec3ntly stating that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones can call him to play in the 2022 season.

“Tell Jerry Jones to call me,” Brown said to TMZ.com.

The Cowboys will begin the upcoming season shorthanded with Michael Gallup still recovering from a torn ACL that occurred in early January. Offseason addition James Washington suffered a broken foot early in training camp.

Antonio Brown may have some sincerity to his words, but it’s no secret that he still needs ankle surgery that he wouldn’t undergo until he signs with an NFL team.

However, there hasn’t been any movement on that front as his health issues, along with his history off-the-field problems, haven’t helped his reputation.

Brown played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but became entangled in a spat with the organization over his health that led to his sudden departure mid-season. The 34-year-old may still possess the skill to perform at a high level, but there are several hurdles that would get in the way of him signing with another team.

The Cowboys would welcome the presence of another playmaking talent in the passing game but may be more than comfortable waiting until Gallup returns. Dallas will lean on CeeDee Lamb as their top receiving option to lead their largely inexperienced group.

In the meantime, Brown’s words are nothing more than that.
