Bill Belichick: Peyton Manning is ‘definitely the best QB I’ve coached against’
Peyton Manning received the ultimate honor for his NFL career by being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
His induction as part of the 2020 class has seen him receive plenty of praise tossed in his direction. New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is the latest as he voiced that Manning is the best opposing quarterback he faced in his coaching career.

“He is definitely the best quarterback I’ve coached against,” Belichick told Ben Volin of the Boston Globe. “There have been quarterbacks who called their own plays, but it was nowhere near the same as what he did. He basically called every play by adjusting and/or changing the play once he saw what the defense was doing. He excelled at using the cadence and recognizing blitzes, and more than any one single offensive player, he forced us to change and adapt defensive game plans.”

Peyton Manning likely sits on the top of the list for many NFL coaches as he’s one of the game’s greatest quarterbacks. He put together a first-ballot Hall of Fame career that saw him reach tremendous heights while setting numerous league records.
Although he experienced his playoff shortcomings, it doesn’t overshadow the caliber of player he was throughout his career. Manning earned the strong reputation as one of the best minds the game has had under center. That was combined with tremendous talent and work ethic.
Beyond that, Belichick’s comments only further underline why Manning holds the prestigious reputation as one of the game’s greatest players.
