Cardinals QB Josh Rosen calls trade speculation ‘annoying’
In the months leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft, there has been much uncertainty surrounding the long-term future of second-year quarterback Josh Rosen with the Arizona Cardinals.
It has been something that has largely been quiet from Rosen himself throughout the process. However, he touched upon the topic of discussion by stating that he understands the process and respects the decision makers within the organization, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.
“It’s annoying, but it is what it is. Football’s a business, and I definitely respect the higher-ups and their decisions. We won three games, and each one of those wins — to me, it felt like we won the Super Bowl. And that feeling is so intoxicating, and that’s why I just want nothing more than to be part of a team next year and have the same opportunities to go out and compete.”
This is a situation that is completely out of Rosen’s control as the team will have the final say about what they will do with the first overall pick. There has been plenty of talk that the team will zero in on 2018 Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray as their choice.
At the same time, the Cardinals have shot down that possibility as they have also spoken to Murray on multiple occasions throughout the process. If anything, Arizona is doing their due diligence with the situation.
Ultimately, it’s something that Rosen is clearly bracing himself for whatever decision the team comes to next week.
