Cardinals still don’t know if Larry Fitzgerald is going to retire
The Arizona Cardinals have made some drastic moves over the last couple of seasons in an effort to become a force to be reckoned with in the NFL once again. The dynamic offense led by Kyler Murray has shown promise for a bright future. Although it remains to be seen whether veteran wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will be part of that future.
With the Cardinals recently signing seven-time Pro Bowler A.J. Green, the writing seems to be on the wall in Arizona about Fitzgerald’s future. However, Fitzgerald hasn’t officially said he’s going to retire, nor does Cardinals general manager Steve Keim have any idea about what the veteran wideout intends to do moving forward, via Pro Football Talk.

“We’ve texted a few times, but nothing to the extent of his intentions,†Keim said during his Monday press conference.
Although Fitzgerald isn’t the dominant force of old, he could still play a sizeable role as one of three veteran wideouts for Murray in the passing game. DeAndre Hopkins remains the No. 1 option in the passing game, with Green set to become No. 2 and Fitzgerald presumably being No. 3.

The Cardinals would, without a doubt, have the best receiving corps in the game if Fitzgerald were to return for at least one more season.
In 13 games with Arizona during the 2020 campaign, Fitzgerald caught 54 passes for 409 yards and one touchdown. He’d stand to potentially see these numbers rise in 2021, with Green and Hopkins drawing so much attention downfield. That might be enough to convince the future Hall of Famer to come back for one more season.
