Seahawks’ Russell Wilson wants Antonio Brown to join him in Seattle

After what seemed like endless drama during his stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers and extremely short stint with the then-Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots, superstar wide receiver Antonio Brown appeared to have exhausted all his options. He was headed for retirement whether he liked it or not as a result. Russell Wilson wants the veteran wide receiver to join him with the Seattle Seahawks.

Following an unexpected reunion with Tom Brady on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brown is now a Super Bowl champion. As a result, he’s a hot commodity once again as a free agent. Although, all signs point to Brown re-signing with the Bucs for at least one more season catching passes from Brady.

Wilson wanting Brown in Seattle is interesting for a couple of different reasons. The superstar quarterback has been lobbying for the Seahawks to get him more protection because he’s tired of getting sacked. This has led to talk of him wanting to get traded, but nothing has happened on that front.

The one-time Super Bowl champion would presumably prioritize protection over bringing in another receiver, especially one as controversial as Brown, who could cause more problems than he solves.

Although Wilson wanting Brown may very well be the case in Seattle, there’s no telling what will happen with the Seahawks moving forward regarding their star quarterback’s future. Brown could become part of the plan, or Wilson could want out with a trade being possible at some point before next season
