Cardinals superstar DeAndre Hopkins going with ‘championship’ mindset moving forward
The Arizona Cardinals are hoping to take a significant step forward in the 2021 season.
The Cardinals fell just shy of earning a playoff berth last year and are hoping the promising core group can elevate the franchise toward postseason action. With that in mind, star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins recently voiced that his No. 1 goal is to help his team compete for the Super Bowl.

“I can go out and get 1,400 or 1,500 yards but it really doesn’t mean anything if the team is losing,” Hopkins said, via Darren Urban of the team’s website. “I don’t want to be looked at as a No. 1 receiver. I want to be looked at as a consistent receiver. It’s not really a numbers thing, it’s a championship thing — nirvana.”
Hopkins may say he doesn’t care about his production, but it’s hard to look past what he continues to put forth. He’s primed for another highly productive campaign that may mirror or be better than his first year with the Cardinals.

In the 2020 season, he finished tied for second with 115 receptions, third with 1,407 receiving yards, and six touchdowns. Hopkins will have every opportunity to match or exceed those numbers, but his focus sits toward finally breaking through with a serious Super Bowl push.
In his first eight seasons, he’s played in six playoff games but hasn’t reached beyond the divisional round. Although the individual accolades are nice, Hopkins wants to experience championship success moving forward in his career.
