Colts star T.Y. Hilton has been ruled out against Patriots on TNF
The Indianapolis Colts are looking to get back on track on Thursday night against the New England Patriots.
However, the Colts will be a bit shorthanded without the services of former Pro Bowl wide receiver T.Y. Hilton due to a hamstring injury, according to Mike Wells of ESPN.
Colts Pro Bowl receiver T.Y. Hilton has been ruled out of Thursday’s game against the New England Patriots because of a hamstring injury.
Hilton suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Week 4’s overtime loss to the Houston Texans. What has compounded this situation is that there is a short period of time prior to Thursday’s game against the New England Patriots. This will mark just his third missed game in his first seven years in the NFL.
Despite the Colts’ slow start out of the gate to the season, the 28-year-old has been the primary receiving threat in the passing game posting 21 catches for 294 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the first four games. Hilton is coming off his best outing of the 2018 campaign where he notched four receptions for a season-high 115 receiving yards against the Houston Texans last Sunday.
He has been star quarterback Andrew Lucks’ favorite target in the passing game over the bulk of his career. This has seen him produce four 1,000 receiving yard campaigns that helped him earn four Pro Bowl selections. His absence from the field will put both offseason additions wide receiver Ryan Grant and tight end Eric Ebron into larger roles in the passing game.
