Cowboys owner Jerry Jones playing major role in CBA talks
The NFL is drawing closer to yet another CBA agreement between the league owners and players union drawing to a close.
This has ramped things up on both sides toward working toward getting another deal in place to avoid another lockout that saw it last four months the last time around. With that in mind, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been a central figure in the talks this time around, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Per a source with knowledge of the ongoing labor negotiations between the NFL and the NFL Players Association, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has taken a much more visible and vocal role, so far.
Jones has been quite a vocal voice on the ownership side for much of his tenure as the owner of the Cowboys. He has spoken up on many of the issues and discussions that have been around the league over the last several years. He was also a key component in helping make a push for the Rams to move to Los Angeles.
This should see him take a similar route in helping move things along in order to avoid a lockout. There are still a couple of years left on the current CBA agreement, but starting things a little earlier could go a long way toward getting something worked out ahead of time.
In the meantime, Jones should remain in the picture as a key figure in guiding this process along over the next couple of years on the ownership side of things.
