Cowboys QB Dak Prescott possibly ‘ahead of schedule’ in injury rehab
Following the Dallas Cowboys’ decision to ink Dak Prescott to a massive four-year, $160 million deal, the attention shifts to his rehab effort.
Prescott continues to work his way back from a fractured ankle that forced him to end his 2020 season prematurely. With that in mind, head coach Mike McCarthy voiced this week that his star quarterback is making considerable progress as of late. (h/t Pro Football Talk)

“Well, he’s made a lot of progress lately,” McCarthy said. “Actually, I was able to watch him work Saturday. It was probably his most extensive work so far. He’s throwing now, doing the footwork drills. He’s made a lot of progress. Very disciplined in his regimen. He’s here almost every day, so I’d say he’s right on track or maybe a little ahead of schedule.”
The latest chatter around Prescott is quite encouraging as he sounds like he’s on schedule to make a return to the field well before the 2021 season. The 27-year-old is expected to be ready for training camp, which is well within the four-to-six-month timetable for his recovery.

Although Prescott is making considerable progress, the Cowboys will continue to handle the situation precautiously. He’s making his way back from a severe injury that holds no need to rush him back before physically ready to get back on the field.
Prescott has plenty of time ahead of him to get his ankle and body right to play the 2021 campaign. In the meantime, his focus lies solely on returning to full strength to lead the Cowboys back to the playoffs.
