Cowboys star Jason Witten backs Jerry Jones’ recent comments
The Dallas Cowboys fell to a disappointing 13-9 loss in Week 12 action at the New England Patriots.
It was a contest that the Cowboys had their chance to pull out a much-needed win. As a result of their loss, they drew much criticism from team owner Jerry Jones. The harsh chatter directed at the team was one that veteran tight end Jason Witten voiced that he agrees was warranted, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.

“Passion, emotion, the energy he brings, that is Line 1 for Mr. Jones, I feel like from my perspective,” tight end Jason Witten, who has played 16 years for the Cowboys, said Tuesday. “He wants to win, he expects to win. He feels like he’s put a great team together, which he has, and we haven’t played to our expectations of where we should be. That’s completely fair. I think it’s just the raw emotion of it all. He’s been around a lot of great football and knows what he wants it to look like.”
The Cowboys have not stepped up to the play this season when facing formidable opponents. The team holds an 0-4 mark against teams that hold a .500 or better record. This is a telling sign of the where they stand heading into the final stretch of the season.

Things will not get any easier in the last five games with matchups against the likes of the Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, and Chicago Bears. Meanwhile, the Eagles are just a game back for the division race with games against the likes of the New York Giants (twice), Miami Dolphins and Washington Redskins.
Ultimately, the Cowboys’ playoff fate rests squarely in their hands.
