Defending Super Bowl champion Eagles will start 2018 NFL season against Falcons
Last season, the Eagles won their first Super Bowl title in franchise history. They look like the team to beat in the NFC for many years to come. Although, the team finished the season without their star quarterback under center. Carson Wentz was stuck watching from the sidelines. However, the up-and-comer is expected to be ready for Week 1 next season.

According to ESPN, the defending Super Bowl champions will get their title defense and the NFL season opener underway against Matt Ryan and the visiting Atlanta Falcons.
The Philadelphia Eagles will open their first Super Bowl defense when they host the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday, Sept. 6, to start the 2018 NFL regular season, the NFL announced Thursday night.
NFC Futures
With a healthy Wentz under center and a talented squad on both sides of the football, the Eagles are expected to be a serious force to be reckoned with once again in 2018. The NFC is arguably the better conference in terms of dominant teams. Among the Saints, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and the LA Rams, Philadelphia could still be tough to beat.
The season opener will be a rematch of the playoff showdown between the Eagles and Falcons. Obviously, Philadelphia got the best of Atlanta in that matchup. Though it was close with Nick Foles and company getting by 15-10.
The Falcons could also be a team to watch in the NFC as they are as talented as they come offensively. Ryan will look to bounce back after failing to return to the Super Bowl and potentially take the next step for the franchise that seems to be on the cusp.
