Eagles are biggest underdogs in the Super Bowl since 2009
Super Bowl LII is set. The defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots will take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 4 in Minnesota.
The Eagles lost Carson Wentz to a torn ACL earlier in the season. Despite this, they defied the odds to reach the Super Bowl while embracing the underdog role all the way. Along with embracing and succeeding in the underdog role, Philadelphia will be the biggest underdog in the Super Bowl in almost a decade, via ESPN’s David Purdum.
The Philadelphia Eagles are the biggest Super Bowl underdogs since 2009.
The Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas on Sunday installed the Eagles as 5.5-point underdogs to the New England Patriots for Super Bowl LII.
Although some sports books have already come out with the odds for Super Bowl LII, others have not yet released their spread for the game that’ll take place on Feb. 4. The Patriots will likely remain heavy favorites unless some significant injury issues come to light over the next two weeks.

Tom Brady’s hand injury will likely become a hot topic of discussion once again. Brady reportedly had 12 stitches for the injury he suffered before the AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Eagles will continue to go with Nick Foles who has been a formidable backup for Wentz.  Although Foles is no Brady or Wentz, he might have what it takes to give the Patriots a run for their money as New England attempts to be back-to-back champions.
