Justin Jefferson’s future with the Vikings remains in limbo
As the Minnesota Vikings move through the offseason, the franchise faces the lingering question of star wide receiver Justin Jefferson’s long-term future.
Jefferson has yet to ink a contract extension, so the All-Pro wideout did not show up to the team’s practice facility on Monday for the start of OTAs.
The 24-year-old has had on-and-off discussions about his contract situation, but they haven’t led to him receiving the lucrative payday that his stellar play warrants.

Despite missing seven games last season due to injury, he put together his fourth straight 1,000 receiving-yard campaign in as many NFL seasons while hauling in 68 receptions and five touchdowns. He put himself alongside Jim Benton and Wes Chandler to notch 1,000 receiving yards in 10 or fewer games played.
He’s only a season removed from earning the Offensive Player of the Year award after recording 128 catches for 1,809 receiving yards. Over his first four seasons, he has tallied 392 receptions for 5,899 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns.

On top of that, his 98.3 receiving yards per game ranks as the highest in NFL history. When healthy, Jefferson has established himself as one of the league’s best wide receivers and offensive weapons.
All that has left Jefferson set to play the fifth-year option worth $19.7 million for next season. The Vikings hold significant interest in extending their star wideout, but that hasn’t led to hammering out a deal that will keep him in Minnesota for the foreseeable future
Time will tell if Jefferson will get the massive contact that his play deserves.
