NFL Week 12 schedule: 5 best games this weekend

The NFL Week 12 slate has plenty of good games. Here are the five which will define the weekend as we head into Thanksgiving.

5. Washington Football Team at Dallas Cowboys (-3)

This doesn’t belong on the list, and yet it absolutely has to be here. The Cowboys and Football Team are both awful, but each if 3-7 and a half-game out of first place in the NFC East. Also, if you care about history, it’s one of the great rivalries across NFL history.

Ultimately, whoever wins this game has a real chance to not only take over the top spot in the division, but eventually win it and host a playoff game.

4. Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers (-8.5)

Green Bay comes into this affair needing a win if it wants to keep touch with the New Orleans Saints for home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. However, Chicago is even more desperate, considering it was once 5-1 before losing its last four games.

If the Bears are going to waltz into Lambeau Field on Sunday night and beat the Packers, they need to get something out of the quarterback position. With Nick Foles and Mitch Trubisky both ailing and already limited, it’s not looking great.

3. Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts (-3)

Huge divisional battle in the AFC. The Colts and Titans are playing for the second time in three weeks, with Indianapolis having beaten Tennessee in the prior matchup. Now, both at 7-3 and coming off significant wins, the two tangle with first place on the line.

The winner suddenly has an inside track to a playoff game at home in the Wild Card round, while the loser is staring at the prospect of going on the road for all of January.

2. Kansas City Chiefs (-3.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Even though it’s interconference, this has to be on the list. Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady square off for the fourth time, with Mahomes looking to even the score. Kansas City comes in winners of five straight and at 9-1, while the Buccaneers are 7-4 and losers of two-of-three.

If Tampa Bay wants to get right, it needs to pressure Mahomes with four, cover Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce for a few seconds and keep Frank Clark and Chris Jones from teeing off on Brady. Tall order.

1. Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers (-5.5)

Pittsburgh is trying to stay unbeaten. Baltimore is trying to stay in the playoff race.

For the Ravens, a loss here and they may need to win out to make it into the postseason. Lamar Jackson and Co. have struggled recently, losing three of their past four. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is 10-0 but has plenty to play for beyond perfection. Kansas City is only one game back for the top seed.
