NFL Week 17 schedule: 5 best games to watch

It’s the final week of the 2020 NFL regular eason, and these are the five games you must watch before the playoffs begin.

5. Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills

Is Buffalo going to play hard in this game? The guess here is no, although head coach Sean McDermott hasn’t talked publicly one way or the other about his intentions. The Dolphins, meanwhile, know that a win puts them in the postseason for the first time since 2016. If they’re going to get there, they’ll be doing it without the help Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is ruled out with COVID. In short, it’s on Tua Tagovailoa to deliver.

4. Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams

This would have been much higher on the list, but then Jared Goff got hurt, Cooper Kupp was placed on the COVID-19/reserve list, and John Wolford became the main talking point. While it’s fun to think about Wolford making his first NFL appearance and suddenly playing great football, it’s far ore likely he gets beaten soundly by a desperate Cardinals team trying to avoid a late-season collapse. That said, win and in for both squads.

3. Washington Football Team at Philadelphia Eagles

Yes, the teams combine for 10 wins. It’s not exactly a clash of the titans. Still, Washington is a heck of a story considering all Ron Rivera and Alex Smith have gone through to even be at this moment. If the Football Team wins, it moves into the playoffs as NFC East champs and hosts either the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Rams, Chicago Bears or Arizona Cardinals in the Wild Card round.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns

Even with quarterback Mason Rudolph starting instead of Ben Roethlisberger, this is going to be great theatre. Nobody wants to ruin the Browns season quite like their old rivals in the Steelers, and Cleveland would be utterly humiliated if they lose to Pittsburgh’s backups. Of course, the Browns are the favorites and for good reason, but they’re also coming off a loss to the previously one-win New York Jets.

1. Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears

Best game of the day. The Packers need to win if they’re going to ensure being the No. 1 seed in the NFC, giving them the only bye week available. Meanwhile, the Bears know their situation is simple. With a win, they make the playoffs. With a loss, they go home unless the Rams can somehow beat the Cardinals with John Wolford at the controls.
