NFL Week 18 schedule: 5 best bets on favorites
With the NFL Week 18 schedule starting on Saturday, here are five favorites who are good bets to cover their spreads.
5. Minnesota Vikings (-5.5) vs. Chicago Bears
The Vikings are trying to end their season with a win over their NFC North rival on Sunday afternoon. Minnesota is 7-9 and one of the league’s most disappointing teams once again. However Kirk Cousins and Co. can still sweep the Bears and get out of the year with some dignity before the coaching staff is likely fired. The same is going to happen for Chicago after this one. It makes you wonder how much fire the Bears are going to have on the road in a meaningless tilt.

4. Washington Football Team (-7) at New York Giants
This NFL Week 18 schedule is about the Giants. They don’t have a real quarterback and nobody has looked more dead in the water the New York over the past month. It’s really tough to see the Giants showing any life under second-year head coach Joe Judge, who somehow appears safe for 2022 despite doing a horrific job for much of his tenure. Washington has plenty of problems, but at least it still resembles an NFL team with a real coach.
3. Buffalo Bills (-16) vs. New York Jets
The Jets are a bottom-five team in the NFL and the Bills are trying to win their second straight AFC East title, only needing to win at home against New York. Buffalo has been odd at times, but it has been playing better of late, highlighted by a Week 16 victory on the road against the New England Patriots. The Jets have nothing to play for and there’s a huge mismatch at quarterback, so expect Buffalo to roll early and cruise late in this one.

2. Dallas Cowboys (-4) at Philadelphia Eagles
The Cowboys and Eagles are both playing for very little, but Philadelphia is dealing with a COVID outbreak while Dallas is apparently going to play its guys, hoping it can somehow sneak into a higher seed. The Cowboys are the better team, and the Eagles haven’t beaten anybody with a winning record all year. Swallow the points and roll with America’s Team.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (-10.5) at Denver Broncos
The Chiefs are trying to clinch the AFC’s second seed and given themselves a chance at the top spot, hoping the Tennessee Titans lose on Sunday to the Houston Texans. Meanwhile, Denver is 7-9 and playing for nothing, waiting to see whether head coach Vic Fangio survives or is given his walking papers. The Chiefs should win, and do so big.
