NFL Week 2 schedule: 5 QBs primed for huge games

Looking at the NFL Week 2 schedule, we highlight five quarterbacks who are likely to have huge statlines this weekend.

5. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers welcome in the Dallas Cowboys this weekend, who are fresh off allowing 378 yards to Tom Brady last week. Los Angeles doesn’t have the firepower Tampa Bay does, but Keenan Allen and Mike Williams on the outside with Austin Ekeler coming out of the backfield is plenty. Additionally, the Cowboys will be without star edge rusher DeMarcus Lawrence, who broke his foot in practice this week and will miss about two months. Look for Herbert to feast.

4. Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Brady continues to beat the heck out of Father Time, throwing four touchdowns in the aforementioned win over the Cowboys. Now, after 10 days off, Brady takes on the Atlanta Falcons, who made Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts look like an All-Pro. Atlanta has minimal talent in the way of pass-rushers, giving Brady ample time to find receivers Antonio Brown, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, along with tight end Rob Gronkowski.

3. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Murray was brilliant in Week 1, throwing four touchdowns and running in another to beat the Tennessee Titans, 38-13. This weekend, it’s the Minnesota Vikings coming to the desert after losing to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Vikings have All-Pro talent at every level of their defense, but the last few years show a team which constantly underwhelms. Look for Murray to extend plays and use his strong arm to find DeAndre Hopkins and A.J. Green.

2. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Mahomes is 3-0 against the Baltimore Ravens, and he gets a fourth crack at them come Sunday night. The 2018 MVP also has a perfect record in the month of September, along with 35 touchdown passes and zero interceptions. The Ravens, who are coming off a short week, are extremely banged up on both sides of the ball, only adding to their burden. Finally, Baltimore loves to blitz more than any team in football, something Mahomes has eaten up throughout his career.

1. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks

Wilson was fantastic in the season opener, launching four touchdowns including a pair to receiver Tyler Lockett. The Seahawks now host the Titans, who had one of the league’s worst defenses in 2020 before allowing 38 points to Arizona last week. Between Lockett and fellow receiver D.K. Metcalf, the Seahawks could put up a 40-burger on Tennessee.
