NFL Week 3: 5 best games to watch this weekend

The NFL Week 3 slate has some intriguing matchups. Below we take a look at the five best games to watch in NFL Week 3.

5. New York Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6)

You might be thinking, what? Well, it’s the regular-season debut of quarterback Daniel Jones, the Giants’ first-round pick this spring. With Eli Manning being benched after two hideous games, Jones is getting his chance to prove the selection wasn’t the farce so many in the media have called it. The Buccaneers are also making this game somewhat intriguing after beating the Carolina Panthers on Thursday. A win, and the Buccaneers will be in first place of the NFC South.

4. Atlanta Falcons at Indianapolis Colts (-1.5)

Interconference game, and a good one at that. Indianapolis and Atlanta are both 1-1 after winning in Week 2, and now each has a chance to make a statement. In reality, neither of these clubs are likely to make a legit Super Bowl run, but each could win shaky divisions and at least be a tough out come January. Vegas believes the Falcons are the better team on a neutral field, but with the game in Indy, perhaps Jacoby Brissett and Co. can walk away with another quality win.

3. Houston Texans at Los Angeles Chargers (-3)

Quality AFC matchup here. The Texans are trying to win a game without having to come down to the final seconds. Los Angeles is simply trying to wash away the stink that is losing to the Detroit Lions. Not only losing, but fumbling inside the 1-yard line and seeing two touchdowns being taken away via penalty — all on the same drive. The winner moves to 2-1 and potentially holds key tiebreaker. The loser has work to do.

2. Los Angeles Rams (-3.5) at Cleveland Browns

Sunday night gets a game in the Dawg Pound. Los Angeles is coming in 2-0 after handling the Panthers and New Orleans Saints. Now, the Rams hope for fireworks from Jared Goff, Todd Gurley and the rest of the offense in primetime. Meanwhile, the Browns entered the season with enormous expectations but have been so-so to this point. If Cleveland is really going to compete in the AFC with the big boys, it needs to show up when the lights are brightest.

1. Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs (-5.5)

Lamar Jackson vs. Patrick Mahomes. Chiefs vs. Ravens. Undefeated vs. undefeated. The two heavyweights will link up at Arrowhead Stadium on what is expected to be a rainy afternoon. It’s only Week 3, but it is hard not to be excited about a bonafide Super Bowl contender in Kansas City, taking on a hopeful in Baltimore.
