NFL Week 3 lines and odds: Reason to bet on each favorite

NFL Week 3 throws up some enticing favorites bets. We examine why you should bet on the favorite in NFL Week 3.

Miami Dolphins at Jacksonville Jaguars (-3)

Jacksonville is 1-1, has a good quarterback in Gardner Minshew, and is home on a short week against the Dolphins, who have a turnover-prone quarterback in Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons (-3.5)

Atlanta is desperate, hosting and playing with one of the best offenses in football. If the Falcons can simply avoid a collapse, they should handle Mitch Trubisky and Co.

Cincinnati Bengals at Philadelphia Eagles (-5.5)

This is it for Philadelphia. The Eagles are more talented on both sides of the ball and know a loss essentially ends the season in September.

Houston Texans at Pittsburgh Steelers (-4)

Pittsburgh has one of the league’s best defenses, taking on a Houston roster with a bad offensive line and limited options at tight end and running back. Also, the Texans’ defense is among the league’s worst.

Los Angeles Rams at Buffalo Bills (-2)

Buffalo is 2-0 with hopes of eventually gaining the AFC East title. The Bills have one of the league’s better defenses alongside quarterback Josh Allen, who is leading the league in passing yards.

Las Vegas Raiders at New England Patriots (-6.5)

The Patriots came within a yard of beating the Seahawks. Now they get the Raiders on a short week, with them coming across the country. Tough spot for Las Vegas.

San Francisco 49ers (-4) at New York Giants

San Francisco is insanely banged up, but the Niners still have more talent than the Giants, especially defensively. Look for the reigning NFC champs to force some turnovers.

Tennessee Titans (-2.5) at Minnesota Vikings

Frankly, Minnesota has looked awful. Also, Ryan Tannehill has already thrown six touchdowns without an interception. Tennessee looks like the best team in the AFC South.

Washington Football Team at Cleveland Browns (-7)

The Browns had an extra three days to prepare, and got their swagger back after handling the Bengals. Also, Dwayne Haskins is in the conversation for the league’s worst quarterback.

Carolina Panthers at Los Angeles Chargers (-6.5)

Without Christian McCaffrey, the Panthers are a completely different offense. Factor in how good Los Angeles’ defense is, and this is a rough game for Carolina.

New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts (-10.5)

Have you seen the Jets?

Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks (-5)

The Seahawks have the best offense in football in many regards through two weeks. Tough seeing a bad Cowboys defense slowing it down.

Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals (-5.5)

The Lions are a complete tire fire. Arizona is 2-0 and getting great production from Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins. This shouldn’t be close.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6) at Denver Broncos

Tom Brady vs. Jeff Driskel.

Green Bay Packers at New Orleans Saints (-3)

Aaron Rodgers is playing great and Drew Brees isn’t. With the defenses both similar in talent, that could be the significant difference.

Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens (-3.5)

The Ravens are home, playing better defensively than the Chiefs and have the motivation considering they’ve never beaten Patrick Mahomes. Should be a great game.
