NFL Week 5 schedule: 5 teams that need to win the most
The NFL Week 5 schedule has a litany of good games on it, and these five teams desperately have to win their matchups come Sunday.
5. New England Patriots
The Patriots almost beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tom Brady’s return on Sunday night, but ultimately fell to 1-3. Now, New England hits the road for a date with the Houston Texans, who have been utterly rancid throughout the season. Houston, also 1-3, is playing backup quarterback Davis Mills under center, who launched four interceptions last weekend against the Buffalo Bills. Suffice to say, the Patriots must win here.

4. New Orleans Saints
The Saints were 2-1 and coming home to take on the New York Giants at the Superdome. Everything was pointing to a nice 3-1 start, and then New York rallied late and won in overtime. New Orleans is headed back on the road for a trip to Washington for a date with the Football Team, with both teams at 2-2. If the Saints are going to keep things close in the NFC South, they have to beat Taylor Heinicke and Co.
3. Tennessee Titans
The Titans are admittedly an interesting choice for this list. They’re 2-2, but the AFC South is terrible. So why do they show up? Because any serious contender can’t lose to the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars in consecutive weeks. Plus, losing to Jacksonville opens the door for a tight race in the division, especially with the Indianapolis Colts starting to get a bit healthier. Tennessee needs to take down the winless Jags.

2. Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City is 2-2 after a brutal stretch of schedule, and now it welcomes in the Buffalo Bills, winners of three straight. For the Chiefs, this is a major opportunity. If Kansas City wins, it pulls into a tie with the Bills and holds the breaker, as both teams get into softer portions of their dockets. Additionally, the Chiefs are sitting in last place of the AFC West, a game behind the other three.
1. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are not used to being in their current position. Pittsburgh is 1-3 and two games back of the other three AFC North participants. After a win in Buffalo to start the campaign, head coach Mike Tomlin’s squad has dropped three straight behind an anemic offense. This week, the Steelers welcome the ailing Denver Broncos to Heinz Field. If Pittsburgh is going to fight for a playoff berth, this is a must win.
