NFL Week 5 odds: X-factors for each game

NFL Week 5 is where we will see who can step up and take the season by the scruff of the neck. We take a look at the x-factor in NFL Week 5.

Arizona Cardinals at Cincinnati Bengals (-3)

Can the Bengals block on the edges? The Cardinals don’t have a great defense, but Terrell Suggs and Chandler Jones have combined for 6.5 sacks so far this season.

Atlanta Falcons at Houston Texans (-4)

Will the Texans be able to keep Deshaun Watson upright? Watson was sacked a league-worst 62 times last season, and is somehow on pace for 72 this year.

Baltimore Ravens (-3.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers

Which Lamar Jackson are the Ravens getting this week? The first two games saw an MVP candidate. The last two have seen flashes of amazing athleticism, but little winning from the pocket.

Buffalo Bills at Tennessee Titans (-3)

Is Josh Allen playing? Allen remains in concussion protocol and if he isn’t cleared by 4 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon, he’s officially ruled out by league rules.

Chicago Bears (-5) at Oakland Raiders

How much havoc does Khalil Mack create in his first game against the Raiders? He’ll likely be going against right tackle Trent Brown plenty, who was signed to the richest deal in league history for an offensive lineman this offseason.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Carolina Panthers (-3.5)

Does Leonard Fournette build on his monster day in Denver? If so, the Jaguars are suddenly looking like the best team in the AFC South.

Minnesota Vikings (-5) at New York Giants

Can Kirk Cousins finally come out of his season-long funk? Stefon Diggs has been the headline all week, but the reality is Cousins needs to be much better, or the Vikings have problems well beyond Diggs.

New York Jets at Philadelphia Eagles (-14.5)

Does Carson Wentz start to get on track? His numbers — and the film — haven’t been up to his pre-injury standards. The Jets are injury-ravaged, so this should be a get-right game for him.

New England Patriots (-15) at Washington Redskins

What do the Redskins do for the entire four quarters at quarterback? Is it only Colt McCoy? The game isn’t resting on this, but it’s an interesting subplot.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints (-3)

Will the Bucs get a lead and force Teddy Bridgewater to make some plays? He’s been very sheltered in his first two games.

Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers (-6)

Do the injuries catch up the Chargers? They should win going away against the winless Broncos, but Los Angeles has a ton of stars down.

Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys (-3)

Does Dak Prescott bounce back after a tough outing in New Orleans and defeat a very good defense in Green Bay’s unit? A win here would go a long way for the Cowboys and their new-look offense.

Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs (-11)

The Chiefs get a chance to showcase their explosive offense on primetime. If the Colts are going to win, they need Justin Houston to be a monster against his old team.

Cleveland Browns at San Francisco 49ers (-4)

The Browns need Freddie Kitchens and Baker Mayfield to succeed and look good doing it two weeks consecutively. If they can beat the undefeated Niners, it would be a massive step in the right direction.
