NFL Week 9 lines: Reason to bet on the underdogs
It’s Week 9 of the 2020 NFL season, and it’s one of the best slates of games we have. Here’s why the underdogs are worth a long look for you.
Green Bay Packers (-2.5) at San Francisco 49ers
With all San Francisco’s injuries, this bet would be on Kyle Shanahan scheming a great run game. Frankly, it’s a tough bet to make.
Baltimore Ravens (-3) at Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis is 5-2, just like Baltimore, and the Colts are at home. Indy also has a very good defense, and Philip Rivers has been playing well.
Carolina Panthers at Kansas City Chiefs (-10.5)
The Chiefs have covered 16 of their last 17, but the Panthers get Christian McCaffrey back and perhaps that’s enough to keep it within 10 points.
Chicago Bears at Tennessee Titans (-5.5)
The Bears are 5-3 and have arguably the league’s best defense. If Chicago can hold Derrick Henry down, it’ll have a great shot to win and cover.

Denver Broncos at Atlanta Falcons (-4)
The Broncos just pulled off a 21-point comeback in the second half over the Chargers. They’re clearly warmed up for the Falcons.
Houston Texans (-6.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars
Maybe Jake Luton proves to be the next great quarterback. Other than that, it’s blind faith.
New York Giants at Washington Football Team (-3.5)
The Giants were very close to beating the Buccaneers, only to fall short on a two-point conversion. Also, New York beat Washington a few weeks ago for its only win this season.
Seattle Seahawks (-2.5) at Buffalo Bills
Buffalo is at home with something to prove. Josh Allen will have a chance to shred a bad Seattle defense, especially with Stefon Diggs on the outside.
Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers (-1.5)
The Raiders are 4-3 and the better team. Los Angeles has talent, but it hasn’t turned into wins. Las Vegas needs to run the ball effectively.

Miami Dolphins at Arizona Cardinals (-4.5)
Miami is coming across the country and bringing with it a three-game winning streak. This is about the Dolphins’ defense handling business against an inconsistent Kyler Murray.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-9.5) at Dallas Cowboys
Andy Dalton comes back, plays well behind a bad line, and the defense steps up. Not a great, or likely, formula.
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-4.5)
The Saints beat the Bucs once, and this comes down to New Orleans getting Michael Thomas (hopefully) back. If that happens and Drew Brees plays well, New Orleans can win.
New England Patriots (-7.5) at New York Jets
Don’t do this to yourself.
