NFL Week 9 odds: 5 favorites to bet on

NFL Week 9 kicks off with the Cardinals VS the 49ers on Thursday Night Football. Below we take a look at 5 favorites bets for NFL Week 9.

5. Pittsburgh Steelers (-1) vs. Indianapolis Colts

Why are the Colts on upset alert? Because they are on the road, they almost lost at home to the Denver Broncos last week, and the Steelers are trying to get back in the playoff race. Indianapolis also ranks in the 20s when it comes to yards per play and yards per play allowed. Frankly, the underlying numbers on the Colts say they aren’t a very good team. While I’m not on board with them being frauds, they’re closer to being a .500 team than a dominant one.

4. New England Patriots (-3.5) at Baltimore Ravens

New England is unbeaten and while the Ravens are good, they are coming up against the genius of Bill Belichick. There’s. reason to believe Belichick is going to take away Lamar Jackson and his ability to run, forcing him sit in the pocket and throw the ball. Good luck with that against New England’s secondary. The Ravens should keep the game close and make for an entertaining matchup, but the Patriots are built to dominate one-dimension offenses.

3. Green Bay Packers (-3) at Los Angeles Chargers

This might be the easiest call of the week. The Packers are technically the road team but will be playing in front of a stadium largely rooting for them. Additionally, Green Bay might have the best pair of tackles in the NFL. In short, don’t expect a ton of pressure from Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram. Conversely, Philip Rivers is going to be under duress constantly from Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith. This could be a blowout win for Green Bay.

2. Cleveland Browns (-3) at Denver Broncos

Brandon Allen is the starting quarterback for the Broncos in this game. Seriously? If the Browns can’t find a way to get their third win of the season here, it’s time to fold the tent and go home for the year. Cleveland has to win this game if it wants any hope of getting into the postseason for the first time since 2002. Time to show up.

1. Philadelphia Eagles (-5) vs. Chicago Bears

This is a big of a risky play, but the Bears are toast. Emotionally, schematically. Toast. Mitchell Trubisky is in his own head and Matt Nagy is terrified of allowing him to play football. The defense looks frustrated as hell with the offense, and teams playing against Chicago simply have to wait out Trubisky until he makes a few mistakes. The Eagles are really talented, at home and getting healthy. Rough spot for the Bears.
