5 teams who should trade for N’Keal Harry

The New England Patriots are likely soon parting ways with N’Keal Harry. Here’s five teams who should come calling.

5. Chicago Bears

The Bears need help at receiver, and even though N’Keal Harry has struggled to find himself in the NFL, he’s worth the lottery ticket he’ll cost. Chicago has Allen Robinson but little else in ways of proven perimeter talent. The former Arizona State product would give rookie Justin Fields a big-bodied deep target to stretch the field with, and another red zone threat for defenses to contend against. Again, the upside for Harry would be considerable in the Windy City.

4. Detroit Lions

Staying in the NFC North, the Lions make plenty of sense. After all, this is a rebuilding franchise which lost receivers Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones in free agency this winter. Veteran quarterback Jared Goff needs someone to target, and Harry could see a considerable amount of action considering the roster he would be joining in Motown. Furthermore, he’s a young, cost-controlled asset for the next two seasons. Detroit has every reason to take a low-risk gamble here.

3. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs seem like an odd pick on the surface, but dig a bit. General manager Brett Veach loves reclamation projects with early-round pedigrees. He has already made trades for linebackers Reggie Ragland and Darron Lee, offensive lineman Cam Erving and cornerback Mike Hughes, while signing former first-round pick cornerback DeAndre Baker last year. Plus, Kansas City has Tyreek Hill but a competition at the second spot on the receiver depth chart with Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson. Harry could fight for targets on the league’s best offense.

2. Green Bay Packers

Why not give Aaron Rodgers another (potential) weapon? Yes, Harry has been a bust his first two years on the league, but there’s little downside to bringing him in. Either Rodgers gets the best out of him and the Packers have a nice compliment to Davante Adams, or he descends to the bottom of the depth chart and nothing but a late-round pick is lost. Good bet for a team with title hopes.

1. Houston Texans

This one is too simple. The Texans have Brandin Cooks but nobody else after losing Will Fuller in free agency and trading away DeAndre Hopkins before the 2020 season. There’s also the New England connection with general manager Nick Casario and team executive vice president of team operations Jack Easterby, both who have deep ties to the Patriots. If any team should be trying to bring Harry in for a second chance, it’s the Texans.
