Rams trade veteran wide receiver Allen Robinson to Steelers
The Los Angeles Rams have spent much of the offseason seeing several notable talents depart.
Former Pro Bowl wide receiver Allen Robinson is the latest as the Rams traded him and the 251st overall pick in this year’s draft to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 234th overall pick.
Los Angeles will also pay $10.25 million of his $15.25 million salary for the 2023 season. Robinson is in the second year of his three-year, $46.5 million deal that he signed last offseason.

The move doesn’t come with much surprise as the chatter broke at the start of the offseason that the Rams were interested in moving Robinson to shed salary. The organization initially gave the veteran wideout permission to find a trade partner.
However, nothing truly surfaced until the Steelers moved into the picture to acquire Robinson. He struggled in his lone campaign with Los Angeles, recording 33 receptions for 339 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 10 games.
He injured his left ankle in Week 12 action against the Kansas City Chiefs. It was later revealed that he suffered a stress fracture that required season-ending surgery.

Robinson’s lackluster campaign transpired due to a myriad of factors, mostly regarding injuries. Star quarterback Matthew Stafford struggled to produce due to a lingering elbow issue. Additionally, he didn’t have the best on-the-field connection with wideout aside from being a goal-line threat.
Robinson heads into a fresh situation where he can quickly become a key offensive weapon for second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett. The Steelers nearly reached the playoffs, and his addition gives another key factor that could push the franchise back into postseason play.
