Ravens are nearing an NFL record for most rushing yards in a season

Their success has been primarily behind their balanced offensive attack that is led by their ground game. According to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, the Ravens are nearing the NFL record for most rushing yards in a single season.

The record of 3,165 rushing yards was set by the Patriots in 1978. Since then, teams have rarely even come close to that record, as the NFL has become more of a passing league, and running the ball for 3,000 yards in a season has appeared virtually impossible.
But this year’s Ravens are at 2,830 yards through 14 games. That means they need just 336 yards to break that 1978 Patriots record.
Baltimore has had tremendous success behind their rushing attack, anchored by the stellar play of second-year quarterback Lamar Jackson. The former Heisman winner has pushed his way towards being the frontrunner for the MVP that includes setting the all-time rushing yard record in a single season for a quarterback.

The Ravens will have an opportunity to add to their mark against a vulnerable Cleveland Browns defense that ranks 27th in the league against the run.
