Saquon Barkley doesn’t think the Giants are a ‘bad team’ this season
The New York Giants have quickly fallen into a disappointing start in the 2021 season after dropping their first three games.
Despite the Giants remaining winless heading into Week 4 action, star running back Saquon Barkley voiced that he doesn’t believe New York’s record reflects the caliber of team they are.
“I don’t think we’re a bad team, to be honest,” Barkley said via Darryl Slater of NJ.com. “There are no bad teams in the NFL. I’m sick of losing. Everyone is sick of losing. But I wouldn’t consider us a bad team. We’ve just got to figure it out.”

As much as Barkley is trying to remain optimistic about his team, the Giants are sitting in an early hole. The Giants could easily hold a 2-1 record after suffering back-to-back losses from late-game field goals.
New York hasn’t performed incredibly well either, but their record isn’t entirely representative of the team being a bottom dweller. However, it’s hard to ignore the offensive struggles the team continues to experience.
Daniel Jones has struggled to lead the offense forward as he ranks 27th with two touchdown passes, 14th with 782 passing yards, and 12th with a 60.6 quarterback rating. His production hasn’t been promising by any means, while he’s been sacked eight times in the first three games.

Meanwhile, Barkley has struggled to find any rhythm as he notched 134 rushing yards with one touchdown while averaging just 3.4 yards per attempt. The Pro Bowler hasn’t topped 60 rushing yards in any contest while he’s on pace for 715 rushing yards.
If the Giants hope to turn it around, Jones and Barkley will need to be significant pieces factors.
