Super Bowl LIV Futures Shaken Following Injuries
This NFL season is turning into the story of injured quarterbacks, and the Super Bowl LIV futures are stating to reflect this.
Week 2 in the NFL was highlighted by injuries to key players, most notably quarterbacks. The Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints are hit the worst with injuries to Ben Roethlisberger and Drew Brees.
Pittsburgh’s odds to win Super Bowl LIV fell to +4000 from +2600. As well as that, the New Orleans Saints’ odds dropped to +1600 from +1200.

New England remains the favorite to win at +333. Meanwhile, Kansas City is second at +700. The Los Angeles Rams are +1000, Dallas Cowboys +1200 and Green Bay Packers +1400, rounding out the top 5.
Three teams – the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles and Saints are +1600. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens are each +2000 to round out the top 10.
The loss of Roethlisberger was huge for the Steelers. The veteran quarterback will have surgery and be put on the team’s injured reserve list ending his 2019 season. The possibility of the Steelers reaching the postseason appears bleak, but Mason Rudolph played well on Sunday when he took Big Ben’s place.

New Orleans’ odds did not move as much as Pittsburgh’s for several reasons. Brees will likely be sidelined six weeks with torn ligaments in his thumb and the reins will be taken by Teddy Bridgewater in his absence.
If the Saints can go at least go 3-3 during Brees’ absence, New Orleans will still be in contention for the postseason with half the season remaining.
The Patriots are 2-0 to start the season and have outscored two opponents 76-3. The only thing that could derail the Patriots train is an unforeseen injury and just ask the Steelers or Saints if that possibility exists.
