Odds to Win NFL Coach of the Year 2013
Andy Reid, Kansas City Chiefs  Â
Odds: 7/4Â
The Chiefs finished 11-5 under Andy Reid in his first season in Kansas City, which now has the opportunity to win their first playoff game since January 16, 1994. An absolutely stunning turn of events, considering they were 2-14 in 2012.
With a 36.36 percent of winning, Reid is the prohibitive favorite.
Bill Belichick, New England Patriots Â
Odds: 7/2
The Patriots have been a model of consistency and success under Bill Belichick, having missed the playoffs just once since 2000. Yet this season may be his biggest regular season achievement to date; despite being riddled by injuries, New England finished 12-4, earning the No. 2 seed in the AFC.
With a 22.22 percent chance of winning, Belichick’s are the exact same as a coach who was largely written off back in September.
Ron Rivera, Carolina Panthers  Â
Odds: 7/2
Just five weeks into the season the Panthers were 1-3 and many had given up Ron Rivera, and even third year quarterback Cam Newton, up for dead. Since then, Carolina has gone 11-1 and secured, not just a playoff bert, but the No. 2 overall seed in the NFC and first round bye.
With a 22.22 percent winning, it’s safe to say that Rivera is officially off the hot seat.
Bruce Arians, Arizona Cardinals Â
Odds: 5/1
The Cardinals finished 10-6 under Bruce Arians in his first season in Arizona. It wasn’t quite good enough to advance to the postseason in a very strong NFC field, but it was a substantial improvement from 2012, when they went 5-11 and finished dead last in their division.
With a 16.67 percent chance of winning, Arians has a pretty great shot for being the only coach on this list not to make the playoffs.
Chip Kelly, Philadelphia Eagles  Â
Odds: 9/1
These odds were announced late last week, before Chip Kelly’s 10-6 Eagles secured a playoff spot and a division title with a dramatic win over the Cowboys in primetime. It represents quite a turnaround from their 4-12 record last season under Andy Reid.
With a 10 percent chance of winning last week, it’s possible Kelly’s chances may have improved on Sunday night.
Pete Carroll, Seattle Seahawks   Â
Odds: 10/1
When it comes to Coach of the Year, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll may be a victim of his own success. The team has improved in each of his first three seasons in Seattle, this year finishing 13-3 and clinching the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC playoffs.
With just a 9.09 percent chance of winning, it’s hard to imagine Carroll will surge ahead of any of the “turnaround” coaches.
Chuck Pagano, Indianapolis Colts    Â
Odds: 33/1
This was Chuck Pagano’s first full season as head coach of the Colts, having missed a substantial portion of last season while being treated for cancer. Bruce Arians served as his interim coach and was named the 2012 Coach of the Year after Indianapolis finished 11-5.
The Colts finished 11-5 again this year, but were able to secure division win for the first time since Peyton Manning was behind center. That being said, with a 2.94 percent chance of winning, Pagano is the longest of long shots.
