Patriots President: Brady Will Decide When to End His Career

The New England Patriots are preparing to play in yet another Super Bowl and as usual Tom Brady will be under center. This week Patriots President Jonathan Kraft said that Brady will decide when it is time to retire.

Brady, who is 40, led the league in passing yards this season with 4,577.

Kraft said he believed Brady earned the right to make the decision as to when he will retire. Kraft said that in response to being asked if he would need to tell Brady it was time to go.

Team owner Robert Kraft then added that it is the team’s intent to have the best players at each position and we keep them around for a long time.

When Tom Brady was asked what that meant to him, he answered using some humor. He asked the question, “Why does everyone want me to retired?”Adding that he knows he is a bit older than most of the other players. However, he is enjoying playing and all the experiences he has had are like a dream come true.

He continued by saying the team enjoyed a good practice and would have a few more before the big game. Also that they were facing a good team in the Super Bowl so he was not thinking retirement.

Brady added that he has always had the desire to play until his mid-40s. Although heknows how physical of a sport football is and that each game could be his last.

Brady feels that his exercise routine has worked well for him and as long as he feels he is willing to continued doing the thing he needs to and feels his body will allow him to then he will continued playing.

Brady’s contract runs through the end of the 2019 season. The veteran will become the oldest non-kicker to play in the Super Bowl when he and his New England teammates play the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday in Minneapolis.

Brady has thrown for 66,159 yards, 488 touchdown passes and 160 interceptions during his 18 NFL seasons. His career quarterback rating is 97.6.
