Take the UNDER in Super Bowl LIII

Sports bettors focus on the moneyline and point spread in NFL games. As a result, the over/under point total is very popular. With just Super Bowl LIII remaining to be played, the UNDER looks solid.

That might surprise many since the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams each have strong offenses led by very talented quarterbacks.

However, here are several reasons why the UNDER will cash in Super Bowl LIII.

New England allowed 21.3 points per game during the regular season. Meanwhile, the Rams allowed an average of 23.8 per game.

The Rams of late have been leaving points off the board. This is due to a poor red zone percentage that ranked No.19 in the NFL at 56.8%.

During the regular season the UNDER cashed in 11 of the Patriots 16 games including 5 of 8 games away from home.

New England played just once under a dome this season and lost 26-10 to the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. At the same time, Los Angeles played four games under a dome and the UNDER cashed in three.

The UNDER cashed in 7 of the 9 games the Rams have played away from home that included an UNDER in the NFC title game played at the Superdome in New Orleans.

The Patriots are favored by 2.5 points and the UNDER has cashed in four of six games this season when the Patriots were favored by that margin or less.

In three playoff games between last season and this season, the UNDER has cashed in two for the Rams.

The UNDER has cashed in each of the previous two Super Bowls played in Atlanta.

While there are several other factors to take into consideration the numbers appear to be leaning toward an UNDER on February 3 when the Patriots and Rams square off to see who will lift the Vince Lombardo Trophy as the winner of Super Bowl LIII.
