Who Made Money At Super Bowl XLIX
The New England Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks, 28-24 on last night’s Super Bowl.
Due to the odds changing, even up until the last couple of hours before the game, a lot of bettors cashed in. Windows were paying out all sorts of combinations of betting.
Depending on where you bet the total hovered around 47 points, meaning OVER bettors were sent to the window. It was 13-to-5 odds was the payout for some of those who cashed in on the OVER.
Some of the books closed with the Seahawks as –1-point favorites. The majority kept the Pats as favorites between –2.5 points and –1 point. Either way, those who bet on the Pats got to collect at the window.
Much riskier prop bets saw the sportsbooks make up for losses caused by the game hitting the OVER and big Pats bettors cashing in.
With season under performers like the Seattle Seahawks Chris Matthews being big impact players in the Super Bowl, many of the props bets did not end well for bettors.
Brandon LaFell was the first player to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl. The favorite was Rob Gronkowski. LeFell was 125-to-1 to score the first touchdown of the game.
The ever popular “will there be a safety†did not pay out this year with a moneyline at +475.
