Washington Looks To Prevent The Mets From Sweeping
The New York Mets will be looking to sweep the Washington Nationals, which will put them tied for first place in the NL East.
The Nationals have a wonderful track record against the Mets. They have won 38 of the past 52 times they have played against New York. However, tonight the Mets are the -128 favorites to complete the sweep of the Nats.
It will be up to Jordan Zimmermann to prevent the sweep of his team. Zimmerman got a no decision in his last start against the Mets. Washington has won seven straight games against the Mets with Zimmerman at the mound. He has a 2.70 ERA over that time span.
Noah Sydergaard will start for the Mets. He has been great at home lately. He is 3-0 with a .90 ERA over his last four starts. He carried a no-hitter in his last start all the way to the seventh inning in a win over the Padres, 4-0. He struck out nine batter and did not walk any. It was his thrid consecutive home starts where he  pitched eight innings.
The game’s total is set at 6.5 runs. With two great pitchers on the mound the UNDER is likely the safest bet.
