Seattle Seahawks Predictably Expected To Win NFC West Division Title

A few years ago, the NFC West division was arguably the most competitive division in the NFL. The Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals and St. Louis Rams were strong teams making the race for the division title as tough as they come.

It always seemed to come down to the 49ers and Seahawks battling it out for the division title, but now things have changed drastically. San Francisco is no longer the powerhouse of old with former head coach Jim Harbaugh starting an exodus after agreeing to part ways with the team last year. The 49ers are now basically starting from scratch with only Colin Kaepernick, Anquan Boldin and Vernon Davis left standing in the Bay Area.

As expected, with the 49ers no longer a serious threat, the Seahawks are favored to win the NFC West with 1/3 odds, according to Sportsbook.ag.

Although Russell Wilson and company head into the 2015 NFL season with high hopes of reaching the Super Bowl for a third straight year, the one team that may make matters tough in the division is the Cardinals. Arizona always seems to fly under the radar, but this season Bruce Arians’ squad may turn a lot of heads and threaten to dethrone Seattle in the division.

Arizona is currently sporting 5/1 odds to win the NFC West followed by the Rams at 9/1 and the 49ers at 20/1.

The NFL is as unpredictable as any professional sports league in this country. Anything can happen from year to year with dominant teams turning into afterthoughts and lowly franchises emerging as Super Bowl contenders. Arizona may be one to watch in the NFC West, but until the Cardinals turn the corner, the Seahawks are still the cream of the crop within the division.
