Carolina Panthers Favored To Remain Undefeated In Week 11
The Carolina Panthers are one of only two undefeated teams left in the NFL. The New England Patriots are leading the way in the AFC while Cam Newton and company are getting it done in the NFC.
Although the Patriots being undefeated up to this point isn’t all that surprising, the Panthers are the most unlikely team in the league to be undefeated. Carolina suffered a major loss right out of the gate this year with arguably the team’s best offensive weapon, wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, going down with a season-ending knee injury.
Despite Benjamin being done for the season, the Panthers haven’t missed a beat and will look to keep it going in Week 11. The Panthers will host the Washington Redskins this weekend at Bank of America Stadium with hopes of improving their record to a perfect 10-0.
According to Sportsbook.ag, Carolina is currently favored to remain undefeated with a -7.5 point spread. The Panthers may be cruising this season, but could have a formidable opponent in Jay Gruden’s Redskins.
Washington is battling it out with the division-leading New York Giants (5-5) in the NFC East. New York is the safe bet to become the division champion and punch their ticket into the playoffs, but Washington is sitting right behind them at 4-5 and is still very much in the hunt for the division title.
After the lowly Houston Texans handed the then-undefeated Cincinnati Bengals their first loss of the season on Monday Night Football, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Kirk Cousins and company could come out on top against the Panthers. The Redskins are fighting for a playoff spot and beating Carolina could prove to be a turning point.
The Panthers will likely improve to 10-0 on Sunday, but the Redskins should give them a run for their money. Washington at +7.5 is a decent gamble.
