NFL Odds: Oakland Raiders Underdogs At Home Against Green Bay Packers
The Oakland Raiders are hoping to keep their playoff hopes alive in Week 15 with the up-and-comers set to face off against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers at O.co Coliseum on Sunday. Oakland is coming off perhaps their most impressive win of the season against the division rival Denver Broncos on the road, but they’ll be faced with another tough task in trying to contain Rodgers and the Packers offense.
According to Sportsbook.ag, the Raiders will be underdogs once again this week. Green Bay is sporting a -3.5 point spread heading on the road.
Although the Raiders are the underdogs in Week 15, Jack Del Rio’s squad will be going up against a Packers team that has struggled in the second half of the 2015 NFL season. Green Bay, as per usual, got off to a quick and impressive start to the season winning six in a row before facing the Broncos in Week 8.
Denver exposed many of the Packers’ flaws in Week 8 routing Green Bay in the Mile High City, 29-10. Rodgers and company tried to bounce back the following week but were beaten by the Carolina Panthers. As if suffering consecutive losses to two of the league’s elite wasn’t telling enough, the Packers fell to the division rival Detroit Lions a week later at Lambeau Field.
With three wins in the last four weeks, the Packers have gotten back on track regarding racking up in the wins, but it hasn’t been pretty on the football field. Green Bay barely got out of Detroit with a win on Dec. 4 with Rodgers needing to throw a 61-yard hail mary touchdown pass to be victorious.
In Week 15, Green Bay will be facing a hungry Raiders squad led by Khalil Mack and Derek Carr. Mack is coming off a career performance against the Broncos where he recorded five sacks to match a franchise mark and take the league lead in that defensive category. The second-year linebacker will be hoping to keep it go with Rodgers in his crosshairs on Sunday.
Oakland at +3.5 may is the safe bet in this Week 15 matchup. Rodgers will be running for his life, and Carr will look to take advantage of the absence of Sam Shields by giving rookie wideout Amari Cooper a heavy workload.
