NFL bets: 5 best lines to hit in Week 3
The third week of the NFL season is here, something that almost feels impossible to believe. Just yesteryear it seems we were waiting for the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles to kick off the campaign. Now, we’re already looking at the standings beginning to take shape. Week 3 is throwing up some very interesting NFL bets.
So which teams are getting the best action from Vegas this week? Here are five games that are worth laying down some cash on if you’re so inclined. All the NFL bets are from OddsShark.
5. Green Bay Packers (-3) at Washington Redskins
The Packers are coming off a tie against the Minnesota Vikings, a game that they could have easily both won and lost at multiple points. Regardless, they are laying a field goal on the road against the Redskins, who just scored a measly nine points in a home loss to the Indianapolis Colts. If you are giving me angry Aaron Rodgers and I only have to lay three points, that’s an easy call.
4. Indianapolis Colts (+6) at Philadelphia Eagles
This was a game that originally as a stay-away, but there are reasons to believe the Colts are going to cover. For starters, Indianapolis played well for much of the game in Week 1 versus the Cincinnati Bengals, only to fall apart late. Last Sunday, the Colts smashed Washington to earn their first win of the year. Additionally, the Eagles are going with Carson Wentz for this game, who hasn’t played since December. It stands to reason he will be rusty, and that Philadelphia will be very cautious with this gameplan.

3. Denver Broncos at Baltimore Ravens (-5)
The Ravens aren’t great, but they are historically hard to beat at home. Meanwhile, the Broncos are 2-0 but barely beat the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders at Mile High. Denver has the smell of a team playing out ahead of its skis, while Baltimore should get right after getting a mini-bye coming into Week 3. Swallow the points.
2. San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs (-6.5)
The Chiefs just beat the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers on the road, averaging 40 points per game. Patrick Mahomes is the league MVP to this point with 10 touchdowns, and now Kansas City finally comes home to take on an overmatched 49ers team at Arrowhead Stadium. San Francisco will score points because everybody does against Kansas City, but the Chiefs should eventually pull away considering their vast array of weapons.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2)
This line reflects the notion that Pittsburgh is a sleeping giant. Perhaps they are just sleeping, though. The Steelers have looked awful for much of the first two games, and the in-fighting is outrageous. Conversely, the Buccaneers are the picture of a team playing its best, and I expect both trends to continue on Monday night.
