Nick Bosa Expected to Be Picked First Overall in NFL Draft

Its seems there is always something news worthy taking place in the NFL. With the Scouting Combine followed by the NFL Draft approaching, sportsbooks are preparing for another busy offseason. Odds makers have updated their odds on the NFL draft and Ohio State defensive standout Nick Bosa has been chosen as the overall favorite to be picked first at -200. Following Bosa is Quinnen Williams at +200, Ed Oliver at +600, Josh Allen at +1000 and Dwayne Haskins at +1200.

The top pick in the 2019 NFL Draft is held by the Arizona Cardinals. Although there has been talk the team could trade down to pick up more draft picks or players and a pick. Arizona is coming off a disappointing season of 3-13 and has several holes to fill on its roster.

The Cardinals have a new head coach in Kliff Kingsbury formerly the head coach for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Arizona has Josh Rosen, their first round pick in the 2018 NFL draft under center. Additionally, they have top running back David Johnson holding down that position, therefore it seems they would be more inclined to draft a defensive player in relation to other NFL teams holding picks in the top 10.

The Bosa family is well known in the NFL. Nick is the younger brother of Joey, who is a star defensive end for the Los Angeles Chargers. He withdrew last season from Ohio State to recover from core muscle surgery. Bosa, who is now 21, claims he is back. He will have the chance to showcase his talent during the upcoming NFL scouting combined later this month in Indianapolis.

Nick Bosa started from his freshman season through his shortened season as a junior. In 29 games with the Buckeyes, he posted 17.5 sacks and 76 tackles with 29 of the 77 tackles for a loss.

Haskins and Kyler Murray are considered the two top quarterbacks in the draft, with Haskins a step ahead of Murray at this stage. In all likelihood there is not an NFL team willing to trade up with Arizona to take Haskins No. 1 overall, but one never knows until the name of the pick is announced at the podium.

Murray is drawing loads of attention after announcing his commitment to playing quarterback in the NFL despite being drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the MLB Draft last year.
