Bryce Harper has multiple suitors willing to pay him $30 million a year

Just when things appeared to be solidifying with Bryce Harper reportedly nearing a deal with Philadelphia, a new report indicates things aren’t so cut and dry.

Bryce Harper, who has been waiting for someone to meet his price, appears to have found that team in the #Phillies. There is no deal yet but he will ultimately receive more than the 10-year, $300 million contract he turned down from the #Nats in September.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network tweeted Saturday evening that Harper “has multiple long-term offers” for more than $30 million a year. He notes that Philly is viewed as the favorite, but that it is an “evolving” market.

Remember, Bryce Harper previously turned down a 10-year, $300 million contract from Washington. So teams that are trying to lure him would seemingly necessarily need to beat that number.

The 26-year-old is really sticking to his demands, it would appear, and isn’t being swayed by the fact that spring training is already here and he still is without a contract.

And honestly, it’s easy to understand why. Bryce Harper has already hit 184 home runs and has 521 RBI. He’s a six-time All-Star and already has a N.L. MVP award under his belt.
